NATHAN SHEDROFF

Design MBA Chair
California College of the Arts

Experience Design pioneer Nathan Shedroff is chair of the groundbreaking Design Strategy MBA at the California College of the Arts (CCA). The program melds design with business strategy to pursue a vision of the future of business as sustainable, meaningful, and truly innovative as well as profitable.

In addition to speaking, teaching, consulting, and entrepreneurial ventures, Nathan has written extensively on design and business issues, including Experience Design 1 and Making Meaning, along with his website. He has three new books debuting in 2009: Design is the Problem, about sustainable design; Experience Design 1.1, an update to his 2001 book; and Experience Design 1 Cards, a design tool based on his book that helps designers put the approach into practice.

In 2006, Nathan earned a Masters in Business Administration at Presidio School of Management, the only accredited American MBA program specializing in Sustainable Business. He lives in San Francisco where the climate, culture, and industry make it easy to have an esoteric title like Experience Strategist and actually make a living.
